Product Description
In the RIC (Receiver-in-the-Canal) hearing aids, the receiver is the piece of the device directed at the wearer’s ear. It is a thin wire or plastic tube that extends from the body of the hearing aid, which sits behind the ear, over the outer ear, and into the ear canal. On the receiver, a blue colour for the left ear and red colour for the right ear can be noted.
You will also see a number and a letter on the receiver, and these denote the power level and the length size of the receiver. The power level depends of the degree of hearing loss and the receiver length can be measured by your audiologist using a specific tool for measurement. Please ask your audiologist which receiver is appropriate for you before placing an order.
